Schools in Russia will have from now to fly the national flag on buildings and to greet students on the first day of school with the national anthem , according to a decree published Monday on the website of the Kremlin , reports AFP .
Decree initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin , aims to contribute to " education citizenship and patriotism " , cite Tuesday.
It states that white flag , blue, red horizontal bands to be flown continuously on the buildings or schools in their territory.
National anthem , whose music was used as the Soviet anthem will be played both in the first day of school , which takes place on September 1 in Russia and at the beginning or end " public demonstrations established national or municipal holidays ."
These amendments to the laws " on the Russian flag " and " the Russian anthem " will come into force on 1 September 2014.
Presenting the decree , the Russian president will help appreciated it as " the formation of young patriots among all generations ."
According to a study published in August VTIOM , nearly a third of Russians and Russian flag colors confuse the order of just over half of them ( 54 %) know by heart the first stanza of the hymn .
